Building Adaptive Pedals for Kids With Disabilities
Help me give my students create adaptive pedals for students with disabilities in SFUSD! As beginning woodworkers and craftspeople, we'll be creating devices that allow students who have challenges with movement to ride tricycles and other pedal machines.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 7th & 8th Grade STEAM students will be creating wooden pedal mounts that allow students with disabilities at SFUSD to strap their feet to pedals and ride them.
By allowing children to strap their feet top the pedal of the tricycle or other pedal machine, these simple devices let kids improve their motor skills, health, and helps them meet their development goals!
For years, the district got them from a company that no longer supplies them, but our school's STEAM students can fill this crucial need by applying their engineering, design, and woodworking skills. We'll be using the hardware listed to fasten our wood pieces.
Our STEAM students will be have the chance to develop their talents as makers and fill a crucial need in our San Francisco public schools. Thanks you!
