Building a Thinking Classroom with SEL Support

Help me give my students portable whiteboards, yoga balls, and items to help with anxiety to create a thinking classroom that supports flexible seating, movement, and engagement.

My Project

COVID-19 has limited social learning for students throughout our classrooms. We struggle with academic progress, growth mindset, and SEL skills. Developing these important areas in the classroom and closing the achievement gap is my goal as we slowly recover from the effects that COVID has on our students.

The use of easel stand-up whiteboards will be used to promote collaboration/thinking for students in flexible groups.

The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing and give immediate feedback, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. The use of timers anxiety, and flexible seating options items will be used to support the SEL component of building collaboration and thinking for students in flexible groups.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic and SEL achievement.
