Building a Students' Digital Library

My Students

My students are very diverse in terms of ethnicity and socio-economic background. They bring a special blend of linguistic diversity, ethnic knowledge, prior experiences, and culture to our school. We are a Title I school in a low-income community. I have some students who receive special education services for social or emotional challenges and others with learning disabilities.

Building up a students' digital library is transforming the dynamics of education by engaging students to learn in exciting new ways.

My students are creative and enthusiastic about learning. My school provides 1:1 Chromebook for students. They would benefit from a variety of educational applications to help increase their study skills to fulfill their success in our new student’s digital library.

My Project

High school students have increasing abilities to be immersed in digital technology. My goal is to help students become critical thinkers, information gatherers, and savvy digital media users. Building up a students' digital library is a collection of students' works with their opinions, discovery, perspectives, and reflection. This is transforming the dynamics of education by engaging students to learn in exciting new ways.

Students' classroom digital libraries can become more robust to incorporate more creative projects and activities to help students engage with the subjects.

A collection of student works is customizable and making digital content like books, infographics, and audios fit the needs and want of the class students.

Digital content incorporates multimedia, animations, sound, infographics, and text. The student’s digital library makes it easily accessible to all students. They can express ideas, opinions, ask questions, and create discussions that increase the level of interaction to comprehensible learning. Student works and portfolios are engaging. They spark interest even in reluctant and struggling students. They apply reading comprehension skills and read more difficult texts when using the digital student's works and tools in the library.
