This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our elementary school, located in the southernmost part of Texas near the border with Mexico, serves a population where 98% of students are considered at-risk. Many families in our school and surrounding neighborhood struggle to access basic necessities, including food. My students have expressed a strong desire to give back and make a difference, and this project will empower them to do just that.
With your support, my students will design, organize, and run a small food pantry on campus that will give back to the entire school community.
This will teach them valuable leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills while instilling empathy and social responsibility. We are requesting items such as pasta, rice, and canned vegetables to help ensure that families have access to nutritious, non-perishable food options that can be easily prepared at home.
By funding this project, you will empower young leaders to make a real impact, ensuring that no family in our community goes without food. Thank you for supporting our students as they become agents of change!
