My Students

My class consists of the most curious, sweet, loving kindergartners you can imagine. Seeing their little faces as they entered school for the first day was priceless. It is clearly evident, when speaking with any of my students, that they have such a desire to learn and grow. These children come from challenging home lives with limited opportunities. They all deserve a classroom equipped with all the necessary tools to access.

I am committed to ensuring that every child who enters my classroom will be supported as they begin their educational journey to becoming lifelong learners and empathetic, responsible, contributing members of the community.

My Project

The majority of kindergarten students in my class come from low-income households with two working parents and little access to technology. At our school, there are no computer or technology classes for kindergarteners because we do not have the resources or funding to afford computer carts for the primary grades. Although I have mixed emotions about how much time children should be spending online versus playing outside and being imaginative, I understand how critical it is for youngsters to have access to technology. Computers, tablets, and cell phones are a vital component in modern society, and there is an immense need for children to be properly educated on how to safely and effectively use these tools.

I yearn to give my students access to modern technology so that they will no longer be bound to their economic circumstances but will rather be able to explore and navigate our beautiful world.

Android tablets will be an excellent starting point in the quest to prepare my students to be successful in our technology-based society.
