Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach preschool general and special education students at a low income and highly diverse school. I want to make my classroom an inviting place where students can have an opportunity to build a strong foundation for their future. The majority of my students have never been exposed to a block center. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase creative play, you will ultimately help increase their academic achievement.

The log builders will support my students including those with limited experience and special needs to develop fine motor skills, math skills, oral language, social skills such as turn taking, and decision making as they are constructing.

The community garages will help my students learn about the community, jobs and community helpers thus enhance vocabulary, oral language, fine motor and social skills as they build together. The Block Home Builders will help my students develop creativity, design, language, vocabulary thus expanding on creative thinking and mathematical skills.

I believe all students can thrive and learn when given a rich environment. Enhancing my block center will help my students build a strong foundation for learning and success.
