My Project

My school has a student population that is eager to learn. To support their academic growth and foster a love for reading, I seek funding to purchase engaging chapter and picture books for our classroom library. Quality literature is vital for developing literacy skills, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. Our current library is limited, restricting students' ability to explore various genres. This project addresses the Language Arts standards of the Utah Core curriculum, focusing on reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary development.

We aim to create a dynamic reading environment by integrating culturally diverse texts and popular series.

A cozy reading chair will make reading enjoyable, turning it from a routine task into a cherished activity. This innovative approach will enhance learning opportunities by making reading more appealing and accessible. Our goals are to increase the number of books read by each student, enhance reading comprehension and vocabulary, and provide diverse literature that reflects our students' backgrounds. We will track books read, assess reading improvements, and gather student feedback to measure success.

Our resilient students, despite facing many challenges, are curious and eager to learn. Providing these resources will help them unlock their full potential. The books and reading chair will be permanent additions, benefiting current and future students, and fostering a lifelong love for reading. By creating an inviting and inclusive reading environment, we aim to instill positive reading habits and ensure sustained academic growth and personal development.
