Help me give my students lots of books to boost early reading skills and reading fluency!
This project expired on February 7, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My young students walk into my classroom everyday full of energy, with a desire to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. Each day my students are asked, "Who is the best class in the whole world?" and they reply, "We are!" I believe in my students and I strive to show them that every day!
Young students are often overlooked when it comes to quality supplies and resources that meet their growing academic needs.
For the first time in many of their lives, my students are expected to sit and complete written work, learn to read, and cooperate with others. My students deserve the best, and I aim to provide all my students need to succeed!
The books requested in this project will be used by the youngest readers in my school. These small students are in desperate need of additional books to learn reading skills and build reading fluency. Guided reading allows students to read texts with their teachers on the students' reading levels.
My school has a great book room where teachers choose guided reading books for use with their students, but there are not enough texts for our youngest readers!
We need more books! Our school is especially in need of books at the lowest levels suitable for young students who are just beginning their reading journey. As a teacher to these students, I want to be able to provide the books that our students need to succeed! That means we need more and more books so our students gain exposure to reading early on!
