Building a Multi-lingual Library!

Help me give my students a multi-lingual library. We have a very large population of immigrants and refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine. These books help them connect their homes and families to their new school.

My Project

At our school, we have a very large population of immigrants and refugees from both Afghanistan and Ukraine. The kids come with little or no English but with a passion and enthusiasm for learning that can't be matched.

Having a multi-lingual library gives our students a sense of belonging and a way to connect all this new school-language-country-life stuff to their families.

Parents love being able to read with their kids - multi-language books are a real bridge builder.

The second they see books in their first languages, their faces change from confused and anxious to excited and happy. They take pride in showing the multi-language book section to new students who come to our school. It's comforting affirming and educational. It is beautiful to behold.
