Building a Multi-Language Library

My Project

I am building a multi-language library in our Title 1 school. We have a large population of students from Afghanistan, Ukraine, Russia, and Asia.

Multi-language books support our refugee and immigrant students and their families in language acquisition.

The books create a connection between home and school for the families, and offer a feeling of inclusion and acceptance in their new school.

My favorite thing is to see the students who have been here for a while guide the new students to the language section and help them select book. I also love seeing the families' reactions when they see we have books in their first languages.
