Building a Multi-Cultural Classroom Library

My Students

My goal is to help encourage my students to be eager about learning math, science and social studies this upcoming school year by amassing a diverse classroom library!

My students hail from at least 10 different countries and I seek your aid in building a classroom library that my fifth-grade boys and girls can relate to.

Students and their families are from countries such as India, Israel, China, Africa, Egypt, Mexico and here in the U.S.

I am interested in purchasing these relatable books about math, science and social studies as I think such books would prompt my students to become more engaged in conceptually learning about the above subjects.

My Project

The purchased books will make an immense difference in my students' learning as they are necessary resources to help my students conceptually understand core subjects and remain engaged in reading.

I will utilize the multi-cultural collection of books to introduce my fifth grade boys and girls to new math, science and social students content as well as engage my students in literature of people and places they are familiar with.

Thank you in advance for helping me to build a classroom library of books that will aid my students to flourish academically while also allowing them to be enthralled by books they read and relate to.
