This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are resilient, hard-working, and kind. As a math teacher in a Title I school, I have a diverse population of students. I focus on cultivating a safe learning environment for students to take risks, make mistakes, and grow their math knowledge.

My goal for this project is to build a math library in our classroom.

I would like my students to be able to explore various aspects of math through literature. This will be a wonderful enrichment activity for all students but especially students who are "early finishers." I hope through reading books with math embedded in the content, students will make connections of math concepts and its application in the real world.
