This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will help students become lifelong readers! My passion is to show my students that reading can be fun. I want to expose them to texts that make them laugh, have them at the edge of their seats, and keep them wanting more! The faster we can get students invested in reading, the bigger the benefit! Having books that they want to read will help me achieve this goal of creating lifelong readers. I also requested enough books that students will be able to take one home to share with their families.
Studies show how crucial reading is; reading at least 20 minutes a day can expose students to upwards of 1,800,000 words a year!
Daily reading has also shown positive impacts on standardized tests. My students deserve to have this exposure to new learning and understanding through reading.
