My Project
As a high school English teacher, I am always looking for creative ways to engage my students in reading. Many of my students are reluctant readers, but I have found that providing them with novels in a series helps spark their interest and encourages a love of literature. With a collection of engaging novel series and small bookshelves for classroom organization, I hope to create an inviting reading space that fosters independent reading.
These books will provide my students with exciting, relatable stories featuring adventure, perseverance, identity, and personal growth—themes that resonate with their experiences and challenges.
Having a diverse selection of novel series will allow students to follow characters over multiple books, building deeper connections to reading and encouraging sustained engagement with literature.
To enhance our reading experience, we also need small bookshelves to store and display these books, making it easier for students to browse and select stories that interest them. At the end of the semester, students will complete an independent reading project using the novels, allowing them to analyze themes, characters, and personal connections to the stories they’ve read.
Your generous support will help provide my students with engaging, high-interest book series and the classroom resources needed to foster a love of reading. Thank you for helping me create a space where all students can find stories that speak to them!
