Building a Love for Reading, One Book at a Time

Help me give my students a variety of engaging books to build a classroom library that makes reading enjoyable and accessible for all.

My Project

Many of my students come from a rural area where access to books is limited, and reading is often seen as a chore rather than a joy. As a high school English teacher, I want to change that by creating a classroom library filled with diverse, engaging, and culturally relevant books that reflect their lives and open doors to new perspectives. These books will give students the opportunity to explore different genres, voices, and topics that spark their interest and curiosity. By providing access to a wide variety of titles, I hope to foster a genuine love for reading and help my students build confidence in their literacy skills. This classroom library will not only support academic growth but also offer a safe space for students to discover, dream, and connect through literature.
