it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach an amazing group of second graders who are full of curiosity, creativity, and a love for stories! My students come from diverse backgrounds, and many of them are developing their reading skills in both English and Spanish. Having access to engaging books at their reading level is key to helping them grow as confident, lifelong readers.
I am creating a cozy Book Nook in our classroom to inspire my students to explore the world of books.
With your support, we’ll add beloved titles like Danny and the Dinosaur, Little Critter, Fly Guy, The Bad Guys, Dog Man, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Cat Kid Comic Club, and The Rainbow Fish. These books are fun, relatable, and perfect for capturing my students’ imaginations. The addition of floor chairs will provide a comfortable, inviting space for students to relax and focus while they read.
My goal is to create a safe, welcoming corner where students can fall in love with reading, build their fluency, and foster their imaginations.
