Building A Love for Literacy

Help me give my students books on CD to be able to read independently!

My Project

My students will be the youngest learners in the public school system, three-year-olds! They are a diverse group of students representing countries all around the world. Altogether, I will have a maximum of 15 students from Queens. Most of my students come from low-income households.

My students need to be able to access and read books independently!

These books on CDs are necessary to make our listening center functional. Currently, we have a CD player, but no books on CD! My students always enjoy looking at books independently, but these books on CD will promote proper book handling skills, one-to-one correspondence, and left-to-correct directionality while reading.

Literacy is such an essential aspect of early childhood education, and I would love to help my students gain a love for reading.
