Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Jerry Lee Faine Elementary School added a playground to the school campus in the 1970s. Since then, new buildings have come about and renovations have been made, but the original playground equipment still remains!!! New playground equipment for Faine would benefit the students and community.

Jerry Lee Faine Elementary School is a small public school located in Alabama.

The students served at our school range in age from Preschool to Fifth Grade. The student body is located in a downtown inner city area. The student population consists of primarily lower economic status families.

My Project

The new playground equipment will provide a means of tension relief for our students, promote more positive behaviors, increase physical activity, decrease childhood obesity, provide learning experiences, boost student morale, provide healthy student entertainment, and increase outdoor purposeful play.

New playground equipment for Faine would not only benefit the students but the community as well.

The funding of new playground equipment will foster a partnership among schools, families, and communities to achieve student success both today and in the future. Faine is in need of additional funds to make such an expensive project possible. We are fortunate enough to have landscaped land available. We only need your help purchasing the equipment.
