My Project
The Kindness Club is preparing to relaunch this September. Our mission is to build a school culture where kindness is not only encouraged but celebrated. Last year, we led powerful initiatives like our Socktober Drive, which collected nearly 400 pairs of socks for homeless youth, and a Holiday Toy Drive that brought joy to children in a partner shelter. We hope to expand these projects this year—with your help.
Our scholars learn to see the world through the eyes of others by actively engaging in service.
They research local needs, plan and promote drives, and reflect on how their actions support others. We also maintain a kindness-themed bulletin board to recognize students across all grade levels who demonstrate acts of compassion. Supplies like markers, poster tape, and pencils are essential for these activities.
In addition to service work, we promote schoolwide kindness through “Caught Being Kind” giveaways (like bracelets and pencils), which help create a ripple effect of positive behavior. Weekly afterschool meetings are key to our work, and providing snacks and water helps keep our 15 club members energized and focused after a long school day.
We will measure success through participation, donation totals, and student reflections. Club members will share how their understanding of kindness and empathy has grown, and we’ll observe increased acts of compassion schoolwide.
