Building a Culturally Diverse Library

My Project

Our library needs culturally relevant texts that my diverse students can relate to. Often, my children cannot see themselves in the books they are reading. All of the students in my class must see themselves reflected in the books in our classroom library. The books that you will donate will provide opportunities to read "window" and "mirror" books, specifically, books in which they can learn about others as well as books in which they see themselves. Currently, our classroom library needs an infusion of books with diverse protagonists and culturally relevant themes.
