My Project

I am seeking supplies to support our community, where more than three-quarters of students come from low-income households. Many families struggle to provide the necessary materials for the new school year.

Every student deserves to have the school supplies they need to be successful.

Our fourth-grade mentors will play a crucial role by participating in a community project to solve this problem and demonstrate kindness. In one of our empathy lessons, students will be challenged to create a craft without essential supplies, such as glue sticks and scissors. Afterward, they will complete a reflection sheet to express their feelings and frustrations about not having the resources they need. This activity is designed to foster empathy for those who lack basic school supplies, highlighting that many students face this reality every day.

Once they’ve developed this understanding, the mentors will assist in providing school supplies through the "Back to School Bash" program, which distributes backpacks filled with essentials to students in grades K-12. The students will sort, organize, and pack the backpacks for families in need. So far, 70 families have requested assistance, and we are continuing to meet the growing demand. The backpacks will be distributed to those who need them most.

Currently, 33% of our mentors have participated in community outreach activities, and with this project, we aim for 100% involvement.

With your support, we can ensure the success of the "Back to School Bash" while teaching our mentors the value of empathy through hands-on volunteering. The recipients will receive basic supplies such as binders, pens, notebooks, pencils, and highlighters that will support their learning throughout the year. Together, we can empower the next generation and ensure every student has the resources they need to thrive!
