Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an energetic first grade teacher to 24 students who are a diverse, dynamic and hard working bunch of learners. My students are kind, thoughtful and very hardworking. I created this project because I want to help provide them with new materials that will help make school fun!

My students rock!

Every day my students come to school with smiles on their faces hoping to discover something new! Their curiosity exudes out into the hallway of our First Grade wing.

My Project

When students are presented with new content in a fun and exciting way, it becomes a powerful learning experience. The materials I asked for in this project will help to build a community of learners, that respect materials and each other.

Communities often share and help each other grow.

This is exactly what I try to instill in my first graders. Many of the materials in this project will be used for various activities in my classroom that will not only support our first grade curriculum but will also allow for more opportunities for my students to work together with their peers.

The reusable dry-erase pockets and expo markers will be used for both ELA and Math games. These materials will help to make the games reusable so that my students can practice the skills over and over again throughout the entire year! The laminating sheets and neon paper will be used to create fun, durable, and engaging center activities that support our first grade curriculum. These centers will allow my students to work with their classmates as they gain important skills. Some centers I plan to make are math fact fluency games and phonics games. Finally, the disco ball lights and the microphone will be used to build excitement and celebrate learning within our classroom community.
