Building a Community Ball

Help me give my students p4c materials such as yarn, scissors, zip ties, and empty paper roll cylinders to create a community ball.

My Project

In our Philosophy for Children (P4C) sessions, we strive to build a sense of community while encouraging deep, meaningful discussions. To help foster this connection, I want my students to create a "community ball," a physical representation of the way our ideas and conversations are interwoven.

The community ball will be built from yarn, paper roll cylinders, zip ties, and other simple materials, each representing the diverse perspectives of the students.

As we discuss important philosophical questions, students will add to the ball, weaving their ideas and contributions into the larger whole. This hands-on project will serve as a symbolic reminder of how our thoughts and relationships are interconnected.

Your support in providing these materials will allow us to create this meaningful tool that both symbolizes and strengthens our classroom community. With these tools, students will actively build something together, fostering a sense of belonging, collaboration, and shared understanding.
