Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are incredible learners who thrive with hands-on, sensory-rich experiences. They are curious, creative, and full of potential, but many of them face unique challenges related to attention, regulation, and sensory processing. As a special education teacher, I see every day how powerful the right tools can be in helping students stay calm, focused, and ready to learn.

That’s why I’m requesting a variety of brain break manipulatives—such as legos, sbuilding blocks and puzzles—that students can use during short breaks throughout the day.

These simple but effective tools will support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and help students reset between tasks.

These tools will be used in a dedicated “calm corner” and also available for individual brain breaks throughout the classroom.

This project will help my students:

Improve focus and attention during lessons

Learn self-regulation and calming strategies

Reduce disruptive behaviors caused by overstimulation or stress

Feel empowered to take control of their learning environment
