This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As we are all well aware, the development of literacy skills among students have effectivly nosedived with COVID-19. From this, I have taken a effort to encourage independent reading, both within the class and at home. However, I recognize that not all students have easy access to books they would enjoy (or simply any books at all) within their home or even their local community.

Having a comprehensive class library offers a great option for students who may not have these reading opportunities to select an interesting, grade-level appropriate book.

Simply stated, my kids need books. I would appreciate any and all help in further developing this project.
