This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Learning French is not easy. However with more books learning French can be easier and it can be more fun for my students.
I teach French I and French II to about 75 high school students in rural Arkansas.
My students attend a high poverty school and they range from 9th grade to 12th grade. They enjoy learning other French, especially when learning takes place with games and music. My school is also promoting reading to increase my students' vocabulary.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of books. Some of the books include songs, games, word searches, and rhymes to help me teach French. My students love playing games and it helps them learn. I am also requesting French classics that have been translated to English to encourage literacy. Some of the books are about the French culture and my students love learning about other places.
Donations to this project will help my students learn more French and learn more about the French culture.
This project also encourages them to read and improve their English literacy skills.
