My students need new reading material such as the new Emily Windsnap series, the classic Little House on the Prairie Series, and the very fascinating Who Was... series.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are always thirsty for new reading material. They love the time they get to spend engrossed in stories that take them away from reality or teach them about a topic.

My students come from a wide variety of different ethnicities.

They all come from lower class families and none of their parents ever graduated college. My little scholars all love school and learning. They arrive at school excited and eager to learn. Books are their vessels to transport them to distant lands, help them understand new concepts, teach them about historical figures and events, and lose themselves in great literature.

My Project

My students would be overjoyed to see new titles in our classroom library. They can check some of these books out from our school library, however, in a school of more than 700 students, many of the popular titles are often already checked out. The titles I would like to see in our class library include new popular series like Emily Windsnap, Who Would Win?, and Dork Diaries, classic titles such as Wayside School, The Boxcar Children, and Encyclopedia Brown, and high interest titles, such as Wonder, Goosebumps, and Pokemon. These new books will help fuel the passion of my little readers.

My classroom library is currently pretty pathetic.

It is a hand-me-down from the teacher who previously occupied my room. I would like to stock our classroom library with new high-interest books for my students to fall in love with. They will delight in reading these new books.
