My students are an awesome classroom of brand new 4th Graders! Collectively, they are a group of rowdy and energetic little people. Even though I just met each of them, they are special to me because they are my first class of students in my teaching career.
Inventors, leaders, doctors, and fashionistas would be just a few labels
to describe this group. They surprised me from the get-go with their comedic performances, along with their interesting talents. I am eager to see how all of us will grow throughout the school year.
My Project
This project is a compilation of several individual books and/or book series for my new class of 4th Graders. I chose these books based upon specific student interests, reading levels, and a variety of genres. The majority of these books are either Caldecott or Newbery Award Winners. Much of my school's curriculum focuses on reading due to our low scores and being Title I.

These books will be used in my classroom for SSR and guided reading opportunities. Furthermore, the books these students read at school are often the ones pieces of reading material available to them. I would love to be able to provide a large enough book selection to set up a checking out system in my classroom.
