Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is all about building our class community for next year!

Pockets for the back of each chair will help every kindergarten student keep responsibility and agency over their own materials.

This ownership and consistency is especially important for kids who have had tumultuous times in their lives.

The varied books will both expand our unit on Native Americans and will offer representation for all students. The books were chosen specifically to amplify minority voices and offer representation for all students so that they can see themselves in the stories we read.

My students are underserved, higher risk, and amazing; they are enthusiastic learners and are working hard to be the leaders we need in the future. This project will help me create a classroom community with them where they feel safe, secure, and empowered.
