My Project

I have some of the best 6th-grade students at a wonderful school. My students have great hearts and can be extremely caring toward each other.

We are currently in a shift in maturity and understanding of each other's feelings and how we relate to our community at school.

During this time, my students need extra little incentives as well as guidance to help facilitate those feelings in a positive manner. My students will be able to use some of the items such as the coins to have discussions with their classmates. We can use these starters to guide the students on how to socialize with each other and communicate. I also requested some calming devices in case some students need a fidget or a way to focus on something they can control. The students will be working toward earning popcorn days for demonstrating kindness and empathy, so the microwave will be very handy to help facilitate those rewards. With some of the organizational items, they will be able to help to keep their environment tidy and neat and to be responsible for their environment. Students will have access to these extra incentives as well as items that may help to calm themselves and help guide them to appropriate interactions with peers and adults as well as help in their learning on a daily basis.
