My Project

My students are growing up in a world where education is constantly evolving and so are their interests. To truly engage them in reading, I need materials that reflect what they love right now. Many of my students are drawn to graphic novels and/or short stories with pictures. The books I have added cater to my students' interests 100%. My current classroom library is small and most books are outdated and do not get picked up. I know they would love all of the books in this project.

Graphic novels and short stories with illustrations have become a powerful tool in my classroom, especially for reluctant or struggling readers.

It is so important to me to have books that cater to those needs that are also grade-level material. These kinds of books provide the perfect entry point for students who might shy away from more traditional texts. I am a strong believer that all kids enjoy reading when the subject matter or format is something that interests them.

By filling our classroom library with exciting, up to date books, I can help students see reading as something they want to do, not just something they have to do. These books spark curiosity, build confidence, and turn hesitant readers into lifelong bookworms.
