Building a Bookshelf My Students Can't Resist

Help me give my students books to appeal to their varied interests and reading levels.

My Project

I want to foster a deep love of reading in all of my students. The trick to this goal is finding the right books to capture their interest and keep their attention.

I plan to purchase updated books that would appeal to both high level readers looking for a challenge and struggling readers that just need the high-interest book that helps them build confidence and interest.

This requires a bookshelf full of classics, nonfiction, graphic novels, and current realistic fiction that mirror their own lives.

I plan on spotlighting a book a week. This means that students will be looking to immediately start reading it. They need to see it in their classroom and see their classmates reading it as well. This is what makes a classroom library so powerful.
