Building a Book-Loving Classroom: a Library for Lifelong Readers

My Project

My Students

My third grade students are bright, curious, and full of energy.

They come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring their own unique experiences, interests, and voices to our classroom each day. They’re eager to learn, ask thoughtful questions, and light up when a book captures their attention.

For many of them, access to books outside of school is limited. I want to make our classroom a place where they can see themselves in stories, discover new worlds, and grow as readers at their own pace.

My Project

Help me give my students a vibrant, welcoming classroom library filled with diverse, high-interest books that spark curiosity, build confidence, and turn every child into a lifelong reader.

I’m working to create a space where students can find books that match their reading levels, explore their interests, and challenge themselves as they grow. The library will include fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, picture books, and chapter books across a wide range of cultures, genres, and reading levels. I’ll also include cozy seating and book bins to keep the space organized and inviting.

These resources will support our independent reading time, book clubs, research projects, and read-alouds. Most importantly, they’ll help my students develop a personal love of reading that lasts far beyond third grade.
