Help me give my students an opportunity to learn, support and encourage each other all the while having fun with a LEGO Brick Set, Community Minifigure Set, and cleaning supplies.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"Whatever it takes, we can and we will."
The students, in this class, are from the 13 surrounding counties (near Athens GA).
Due to the severity of one or more of their characteristics, of their disability, they have been diagnosed with emotional and/or behavioral disorders which require therapeutic intervention.
The students are bright, creative and full of life. They are eager to learn and need someone to believe in them and give them the support and encouragement needed to open doors they thought would never be opened.
My Project
The materials we are asking for will help keep our students healthy so that they are able to come to school every day, and not miss vital concepts that are taught. The LEGO bricks and minifigures will help my students work on their social emotional skills that they struggle with on a daily basis. By playing together they are able to work many different skills at once (ex: working together, sharing, following directions, asking for help, and many more.) These goals are crucial for them to lead independent, and productive lives outside of the classroom. These materials will also help my students practice socialization and self-help skills that are also important for them to master as they work on becoming productive citizens.
