Help me give my students a fun, interactive way of learning about science. Students in my bilingual middle school classroom will learn about different science subjects. Their large project will involve creating a periodic table of elements.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students at our school do not have a typical science middle school class, instead, science is part of their advisory curriculum. This past year, they loved learning about the periodic table of elements, and I saw the need for a deeper dive into chemistry, biology, and earth science.

Help me revamp the students' periodic table of elements project with an art canvas where they will create an element block and visually represent it.

Student will use the acrylic pens, scrapbooking paper, card stock, glue, and other art materials to be able to show the color classification of their element and what real-life items could be made out of their element. All 118 elements will be represented and posted in the classroom for reference.

I would also like to add more science-based books and activities into the classroom to make science feel more attainable for students.
