My Students

My students are located in Southeast Missouri. Our school is a small, rural town with a population of approximately 2,000. The voters have passed the last two bond issues with a very high percentage of the vote.

In addition, student activities are well attended by students, parents, grandparents, and community members.

Our school has an active PTO and several parent volunteers. Because the people of our community stand behind our school staff and students, we truly are achieving excellence together.

Our school's motto is "Achieving Excellence Together" and this has been demonstrated by the continual support of our community and our students.

My Project

At my small school this year is going to be the first year in the past five years that we will be able to offer physics. Many students are excited about taking the class because they know physics involves many hands-on building projects. I would like to order the build your own cars kits. K'NEX Forces, Energy and Motion Racer Set contains 4 spring motors, plus instructions to build any of rubber band roller, rubber band racer, spring motor turbo models simultaneously. The set also includes an 80-page educator guide with 8 extensive lesson plans. It is ideal for 12 - 16 students working in teams of 3 - 4. It is organized as a series of objectives achieved through laboratory exercises and classroom discussion. The set provides an exciting, hands-on opportunity to address fundamental physical science concepts. Students investigate kinetic and potential energy and identify the differences between energy associated with position.
