My Students

I am so excited to be working to build a strong STEAM academy for our students here at McKinley. My students are diverse in cultures, languages, and finances, but they are capable. We need to be able to collaborate and work as strong teams to solve knotty problems that require critical thinking. BreakoutEDU is a great training platform that can help me prepare them for a great future career.

My students need to unlock 21st century computer science language skills to be successful.

My Project

A kit will allow me to build classroom stations to reinforce vocabulary, build communication skills and increase critical thinking.

BreakoutEDU is a portable escape room that helps students learn how to work in a team to solve problems and unlock solutions to make computer science fun.

The digital extension of BreakoutEDU will allow me to build student extensions for highly motivated and gifted students across my computer science classroom. Students solve puzzles to generate codes connected to physical lock boxes, and work to unravel the solution to a mystery question related to classroom content. Teamwork skills and communication is a key part of this experience.
