Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our classroom setting will be greatly impacted with the current COVID situations in the past year and many students will be coming into my classroom with a low self-efficacy. I have 25 students who will walk into my classroom every day with a smile on their face, and it will be my responsibility to do my best to make sure that they feel excited about school and their learning. These students will be coming back to school this year with many uncertainties, worries, and with what they need to learn and catch up on their academics. I would like to provide a stable and safe learning environment for them. It will also be my goal to help my students feel confident about the capabilities and accomplishments.
I teach at a school where most of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
No matter the circumstances at home, each student will come to school excited and ready to spend their day learning. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn this year!
My Project
Help us start and continue the 2021-2022 year in an amazing way! This year, we have an amazing reading and math program that we need incentives for! We are also focusing on setting goals for reading and math throughout the school year and these incentives will help motivate students to accomplish their goals and feel successful. My goal this year is to build their confidence so that, in return, they can meet their reading and math goals and become successful in second grade. Lastly, our class store is also is in need of replenishing. These prize items will be used daily/weekly!
