I am an elementary violin teacher in Brooklyn, New York. Last year I started a violin program where I taught all the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to play. Even though we had very little money to spend on music, we were still able to have a successful concert using only three different musical pieces, which thankfully had several movements. This year I will have many of the same students and many new ones. I am hoping to have new music to give them which will include new concepts and will sound different and exciting. New music is very important for beginning musicians; they need to be challenged with new styles, techniques and melodies. I am hoping you will help us build our music library so we can have successful concerts this year. There is so much beautiful music to be learned. I have chosen a few pieces that I think will help my students learn the most and sound their best. These pieces have a variety of styles and sounds from other cultures that I'm sure my students will be eager to play. I hope you will help give these special young violinists this very important gift of music. Thank you!
