Imagine an interactive website where students can explore topics of their choosing or learn more about a topic we've discussed in class. BrainPOP Jr. is just that!
I teach at a charter school that focuses on immigrant, refugee and neighborhood students.
Last year my class represented the countries of Bosnia, Columbia, England, Germany, Greece, India, Iraq, Jamaica, Mexico, Pakistan, the Philippines, and the United States of America. Over 90% of our school receives free or reduced lunch.
BrainPOP Jr. has interactive lessons that students can explore on their own or can be used during full class instruction. There are lessons on almost 200 different topics. My students can explore new topics on their own or use the lessons to provide more information on subjects we've studied in class.
Every student will be engaged by the highly interactive website that they can access during their daily computer time. English Language Learners will especially benefit from self guided inquiry through the different topics.
Self directed learning and the opportunity for enrichment are very important.
Your generosity will give my students a chance to learn on their own, reinforce topics and most importantly, have fun while learning!
