Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These simple tools are transformative. They turn abstract concepts into concrete representations, fostering deep comprehension and building a strong foundation in mathematics. With base ten blocks, lapboards with grid lines, and ten-frame sets, students can physically represent numerical values, grasp place values effortlessly, and visualize operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in action.
But it's not just about arithmetic.
Manipulatives engage multiple senses, accommodating various learning styles and promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They encourage collaboration and communication, as students explore mathematical concepts together, discussing strategies and sharing insights.
By donating to our project, you will help my students engage their many senses, and it will help me in accommodating various learning styles to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
