Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title I building that has 73.3% poverty. My students are an amazing mixture of EL, Special Ed, and gifted students. My students love to build, solve world problems, deal with situations and work cooperatively toward a goal. There are several social emotional issues in sixth grade and having STEM materials will help my students to work together, rely on one another and learn from their mistakes.
My students have a variety of levels of ability which means building and creating is an amazing opportunity for everyone to explore new skills.
STEM activities are the best way to have my students work cooperatively and stay engaged!
My Project
Students can not learn how to build and create without play and play can not be experienced with out hands on materials. By building bridges, circuity, structures, and gadgets, my students will be able to experience real world applications in a cooperative, educational, and challenging environment within their classroom.
It is my goal to spark and nurture a passion for lifelong learning by introducing my students to the immense benefits of STEM.
Through these opportunities, students will be able to plan, create, experiment, and smile. I hope to show my students that can be and will be both fun and educational.
