My Students
My sweet second graders show up to school every day eager to learn. They know they are in a safe environment and are surrounded by people who care about them. They enjoy having lots of learning games in the classroom and being able to work with others. I teach the importance of being kind to others, and that it is ok to make mistakes. Even at 7 and 8 years old, they understand the importance of that and encourage each other.
My Project
These hands-on building materials will allow my second graders to review math skills, but also give them a chance to use their creativity. They will have a chance to build, create, and learn. These activities will be wonderful for students to use on a daily basis and will be able to be used for future students as well.
Many students don't spend time building and creating at home, so these activities will provide that resource for them.
Block Buddies and materials such as VIAHART Brain Flakes connecting discs and blocks will provide an engaging station for my eager to learn second graders.
