Build a Bot: Bringing Coding to Life

My Students

As a teacher in a low income school district, my students face challenges on a daily basis. Despite these challenges, my students work hard daily to succeed and overcome. I strive to provide a learning experience that meets the needs of all students while setting high expectations for learning.

My students are creative, ambitious, hard-working and always willing to take on take on a difficult task.

As a school with a focus on technology, I look to provide rigorous and challenging technology-based activities for my students. Our district is one-to one, allowing our students to continually have access to the most up-to-date technology as the world progresses.

My Project

My students have been coding using programs on their iPad. While this gives them great practice coding, they are not able to see coding in action. These robots will give them just that! Students will collaborate in groups to construct their robot. Students will then use a free app on their iPad to code their robot and have it complete tasks and challenges.

The UBTECH Jimu Robots will provide a student-centered learning experience that will allow learners to see their coding come to life.

Exposure to technology in this way creates excitement in learners and encourages a future in a technology driven world.
