This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the Nurse in the school building, I am usually the first stop to help with uncomfortable situations and asked to help provide assistance to families.

Most of my kids come from low-socioeconomic homes and affording some of the most basic healthcare needs can be difficult, if not impossible, for their caregivers.

Being able to provide lice treatment, lip balm, and the occasional treat, for free, can make all the difference for my students and their families. Many times the caregivers have to make the hard choice of food vs health care needs. Being able to provide those items can be very impactful for the families and my students.
