This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school has a dynamic learning environment where we empower all students to become independent thinkers.

My pre-k class is creative, curious, and talented individuals.

They love to share and are hungry for knowledge! I work with amazing students that come from a variety of backgrounds. They love coming to school every day and learning, and I want to ensure they have all the necessary materials to be successful not only at school but at home, as well.

There is a wide range of reading abilities in my classroom, and I desperately need more books at various levels to accommodate their needs.

My Project

My class is very curious and excited to learn. They love bugs and insects they find outside at recess. They are enthusiastic about learning and they are proud of their ability to do things that they were never able to try before. I want to create a Science Center and unit of study to foster their curiosity.

As we embark on our insect expedition we need science materials.

We're learning how to use our senses to become entomologists. I'm requesting an Insects Specimen Set and a Read Bugs Discovery Kit. The Lucite encased butterflies and bugs will allow my little scientists to use their magnifying glasses from the discovery kit to explore, use their senses, and make connections. Students will be able to make observations, complete scientific drawings, and write in their science journals.

The Butterfly Counters will allow us to do cross-curricular activities in our math lessons. My kids need different counters to keep their interest in patterning, sorting, counting sets 11- 20 alive.
