My Project
Imagine the thrill of discovering a book so captivating that you can’t wait to talk about it with a friend! That’s the excitement I want to bring into my classroom through partner reading. With your help, my students will share this joy as they read, discuss, and grow together.
To make this happen, I am requesting four copies each of twelve highly recommended titles for 6th graders.
These books will encourage collaboration, build a love for reading, and provide engaging stories that my students can’t wait to dive into.
One standout title is *Fablehaven* by Brandon Mull, where two siblings discover a secret preserve for magical creatures and must defend it from dark forces. Another exciting choice is *Ground Zero* by Alan Gratz, a powerful novel that intertwines two stories—one about a boy experiencing the 9/11 attacks, and another about a girl living through the aftermath of the war in Afghanistan. Also included is *Hoot* by Carl Hiaasen, a fun mystery about a boy who uncovers a plot to save endangered owls in Florida, all while navigating the challenges of a new school.
These engaging books will spark conversations and foster a deeper love of reading. Please help us bring these amazing stories to our classroom!
