Many of our students come from low-income families with limited resources. Some of the students come from broken homes, some are raised where drugs are present, and some suffer from neglect. It is our goal to provide resources and supplements to give every student the best education possible. We also strive daily to give them love and a fun learning environment.
These years are such a valuable time in a child's life.
We are learning to write, read, draw, how to share, how to be a good friend, and how to control our behavior. Our students range from EC to ready to read. We celebrate every small victory according to the student such as stickers, treat box, candy, free reading center, etc.
The pandemic puts many restrictions on our normal activities. We are working hard to make things as safe and fun as possible. We are doing lots of hands-on activities in our core subjects.
My Project
We are requesting Buddy Benches and bird feeding supplies for our courtyard. We already have a few bird feeders and our students make DIY feeders at school. The students love to watch the birds eat and get so excited to help take care of them.
Learning to be a good buddy is one of our main goals in Kindergarten.
Some children are socially challenged and have a hard time making friends. Buddy benches will give them somewhere to sit and connect with each other and us while watching and caring for the birds.
We are growing successful members of society in our classroom and teaching them to be all they can be. We want them to know that nothing can stop them and that they will always have a buddy in us.
