My students need science based books to help them connect their learning to the real world around them.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Mathew's classroom raised $359

My Students
My science classroom is filled with every and all kinds of students. Science is a safe place for them to explore, take a hands on approach and discover the scientist and engineer budding inside them. They are bright inventors waiting to invent. They are artistic minds waiting to create. They are problem solvers ready to engineer a solution. All 300 of my students who come in and out of my room are loved, valued and cherished, which is also why they eagerly return for more. The anticipation and excitement on what we are going to explore today drives the happiness and positive energy in our learning space.
My Project
Building a classroom library is the greatest way to teach students about the world around them without leaving the classroom. Not only is it the most basic and traditional way, but it is also the most imaginative way. When our students discover brand new books in our library that offer even more information that they can discover on their own, they will make even deeper connections.
Books may not sound as exciting as iPads and computers but the spectacular pictures, the vibrant colors, clearly defined words and fresh print will activate all senses of the reader and engage them in all stages of reading.
Take a look at the 2nd and 3rd grade sets of nonfiction, NGSS texts that I chose for my classes. These books will support our topics of Plants, Animals, Force and more with some more information, awesome pictures and detailed pages. Our students will forever be grateful to be able to read, learn and grow from our newly donated books that teach us even more than we expected!
