This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every year I receive a different group of students. This year I have a fun, energetic, and eager group of students that are ready to learn. They are all very different in their own unique way. Everyone brings a spice to our classroom.

The students at my district come from all socioeconomic backgrounds.

All students are treated the same in my class. They all are respected and cared for and are taught according to their needs. I as a teacher want my students to be well rounded and want them to appreciate the arts as much as I appreciate them.

My Project

During the week we are busy with the academic subjects and we tend to forget about the Fine Arts. I like to teach one Fine Art's lesson each week. It gives students the opportunity to express themselves through their own creativity. They look forward to Fridays and first thing in the morning they ask me what project we will be completing in class.

They not only learn about new art techniques and genres but they also learn about different artists and the period that they painted.

I want my students to be able to paint with different materials such as tempera paint, pastels, and water colors. This will be a treat for my students to be able to use the different materials.
